Elizabeth Somerville was born in 1865 in Dunedin, the daughter of John Somerville, a joiner, and Margaret Ellis.
She married William Dall, a commission agent, on 21 April 1890 in Dunedin. They they had three sons.
When Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition the family were living in York Place near her parents. Her mother Margaret also signed the petition.
Elizabeth died at her residence in York Place on 1 September 1943. William died in 1944. They were both cremated and their ashes were scattered.
