Ellinor Sharkey was born about 1867 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Sharkey, a farrier, and Catherine O’Hare and sister of Catherine Smith. (See 246 C Smith) Ellinor grew up at Ross and when she signed the suffrage petition she was living in Greymouth, possibly with Catherine.
She died at Ross on 22 March 1938 and is buried in the family grave in the Ross Cemetery.
