Elizabeth Bell Shaw was born about 1870 in the Tokomairiro district – the daughter of Henry Shaw and Emma Finch.
Her father died in 1881 and her mother re-married in 1883.
When Emma signed the suffrage petition she was living in Milton although she appears to have signed the petition in Dunedin.
Elizabeth died at her parents’ home at Helensbrook, near Milton, on 7 August 1909 – she is buried with her family in the St John’s Anglican Cemetery, Milton.
