Elizabeth McNab was born about 1837 in Scotland.
She married Peter Wilson in 1858 in Rothesay, Scotland and, soon after their marriage, they emigrated to Australia.
They had 2 children in Victoria before coming to Otago where a further 6 children were born. Five of these children died in infancy or early childhood.
Peter worked as an expressman and when Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Kaikorai Valley Road, Dunedin.
Elizabeth died at her home on January 15th 1916 and Peter died in 1920 – they are buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
