Edith Denny McMillan was born in New Zealand in 1870 – the daughter of William McMillan and Elizabeth Watson. (See 58 Mrs McMillan)

Edith’s father died in 1879 and sometime after the family moved to Dunedin.

When she signed the suffrage petition Edith’s family were living in Arthur St, Dunedin.

She married Edward Owen Weir, an architect’s assistant, on 15 June 1904 at Knox Church, Dunedin.

They had no children.

Edward died in 1954 and Edith died on 3 June 1961, they were both cremated and the ashes scattered.
