For information about Eliza google: the Hewitt family Akaroa. She was married twice and had six children in all. Her maiden name was Bates, then she became a Thomas finally a Hewitt. She was the mother of Christchurch identity Annie Clifford. Two of her sons were in the first WW. One, Edward died at Gallipoli, the other, Gordon survived the war and had a distinguished record.
