Eliza Vallis was born about 1850.
She married Jacob Charles Litzenberger, a baker and confectioner, in 1874 in New Zealand & they had four children, two who died in infancy.
In 1885 Jacob died in the Dunedin Hospital and Eliza opened a business “as Confectioner, Pastry-cook, and Fruiterer”.
This business did not last long as later that year she opened a second hand clothing store which she ran for many years.
Eliza died at her daughter’s home in Dunedin on 3 June 1906 – she is buried in the Northern Cemetery.
