Elizabeth Ann Wilkinson was born in Victoria, Australia in 1858 – the daughter of Daniel Wilkinson, a carpenter, and Sarah Gates.

She came to Otago with her family as a young child and they settled in Dunedin.

Elizabeth married James Arthur Cameron Perry, a commercial traveller, on 4 June 1884 at St Mary’s Church, Timaru and they had a daughter eight years later.

When Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition they were living in Dalry St, Mornington.

James died in 1942 and Elizabeth died at her home on 14 January 1948, they are buried with their daughter in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
