Elizabeth Nicholl Bett was born in 1868 in Whanganui, the daughter of John Spence Bett, a builder, and Mary Smith.
When Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Campbell St, Whanganui, working as a dressmaker.
She died at Whanganui on April 3rd 1942, and is buried in the Heads Road Old Public Cemetery.
