Elizabeth Bunt was born in 1865 in Cornwall, England – the daughter of Joseph Hawkey Bunt, a coachman, and Sarah Ann Chapman.
She emigrated to New Zealand and married William James Cattan, a medical practitioner on 21 October 1891 at the West Taieri Church, Outram.
They lived at Outram where Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition.
William died in 1912 and Elizabeth later moved to Dunedin where she died on 20 March 1954, they are buried together in the West Taieri Cemetery.
