Elizabeth Ferguson was born about 1845 in County Cavan, Ireland.
She emigrated to New Zealand and she married Thomas Joseph Chatham in 1874.
They had four children, and lived in Waikouaiti where Thomas worked as a shepherd and Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition.
Thomas died at their home in 1908, and Elizabeth died in Dunedin on January 22nd 1933. They are buried together in the St John’s Anglican Cemetery, Waikouaiti.
