Elizabeth Green was born about 1845 probably in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia to London born couple Richard Green and Sarah nee Lamb. On 5 November 1863 in Hobart, Elizabeth married Alexander CURRIE. He was born about 1840 in Scotland, the son of David and Margaret nee Henderson. Alexander and his younger brother William immigrated to Melbourne, Australia in 1858 aboard the Arabian.

And then they moved to Kyneton, New South Wales and had six more children:
- Elizabeth Ellen (1867 - 1949)
- William David (1869 -1934)
- Emily Margaret (1873 -1946)
- Alfred Walter (1874 -1928)
- Rose Matilda (1875 -1948)
- Jessie Sarah (1878 -1955)
Then in 1879 Alexander died in Kyneton, aged 39 years. Elizabeth and her children aged from 13 to 2, immigrated from Melbourne to Auckland aboard the ship ‘Hero’ later that same year. They moved to a house in Pollen Street, Ponsonby where Elizabeth died in 1899, aged 54y, “Deeply regretted. Her end was peace”. She was buried in the Purewa Cemetery. Two unmarried daughters Elizabeth and Emily lived on in the Pollen Street house until 1909 when Emily married William Cox, a grocer from Gisborne. The newlyweds returned to live in Gisborne and Elizabeth moved with them.
Elizabeth is the mother-in-law of #382 Emily CURRIE Ponsonby & mother of #390 J CURRIE Ponsonby
