Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Elizabeth Myers was born in 1858 in Pentland Hills, Victoria, Australia – the daughter of John Myers and Alice Patterson.

She married Thomas Campbell Fraser, a teacher, on 24 January 1878 at her parent’s home and they had one daughter before they sailed for Otago about 1880.

They had a further seven children and settled, at first in Drummond, before moving to Woodside where Thomas worked as a teacher and where Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition.

Thomas died in 1901 at their home 'Manaroo', North Taieri and Elizabeth died in Dunedin on 11 September 1940, they are buried together in the West Taieri Cemetery.
