Elizabeth Jane Iggo was born on 31 March 1869 in Gateshead, Durham, England – the daughter of Thomas Ainsley Iggo, a painter and decorator, and Amelia Isabella Gibson. (See 341 Amelia I Iggo)

She emigrated to Otago in 1875 on the Peter Denny with her family who settled in Bluff.

Elizabeth married Daniel McQuarry, a labourer, on 18 July 1887 at her parents’ home in Bluff.

They had five children and when Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Bluff.

Daniel died in 1926 due to a concussion injury sustained while he was working at the Bluff wharf, he is buried in the family grave in the Bluff Cemetery.

Elizabeth died in September 1961 in Auckland she was cremated at the Purewa Cemetery.
