Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Elizabeth/Elspeth Clark was born about 1846 in Scotland – the daughter of Henry Clark, a carpenter, and Christian Heron. See (92 Christina Clark).

She emigrated to Otago with her parents in 1848 on the Blundell.

They settled in Dunedin for a few years before moving to the Tokomairiro where they lived at Clarkesville and had a farm.

Elizabeth married William Paton Tulloch, a farmer, on 5 February 1863 – they had eight children and lived at Glenore where Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition.

Three of their sons lived in Victoria and, in 1906, William died while visiting them – he is buried in the Bright Cemetery, Victoria.

Elizabeth died at her home 'Gold Bank', Glenore on 1 January 1908 – she is buried in the Glenore-Woolshed Cemetery.
