Elizabeth/Eliza Gray was born about 1843. She married William Lockhart, a farmer, on 26 December 1865 in the Tokomairiro parish.

They had 13 children, five who died in infancy, and when she signed the suffrage petition they were living in Milton.

Elizabeth died at her home 'Rosebank Farm' near Milton on 24 August 1926 and William died in 1928.

They are buried in the Fairfax Cemetery, Milton.
