Elizabeth was born about 1822, probably in Scotland.
When she signed the suffrage petition she was a widow living in Castle St, Dunedin.
She died at her home on 7 January 1906.
She 'lived alone in a two-roomed cottage', her health had begun to fail and a neighbour had arranged for Elizabeth to be admitted to the hospital. When the neighbour visited the following day Elizabeth was found to have died.
She had relatives in Timaru and on the Taieri.
Elizabeth is buried in the Northern Cemetery.
