Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Elizabeth Bishop Hume was born about 1854 in either Scotland or Northumberland.

She emigrated to New Zealand in the mid 1870s and she married Andrew Miller, a farmer, in 1879.

They lived at Glenore, where Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition, and they had seven children.

In the 1900s they retired to Dunedin where Andrew died in 1922 and Elizabeth died on 15 September 1928.

They are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
