Elizabeth Hunter Jaffray was born at Saddle Hill overlooking the Taieri Plains in 1860 – the daughter of William Jaffray, a farmer, and Margaret Hunter.
She married John Thomas Nimmo, a farmer, on 28 April 1893 and was living in Riccarton, East Taieri when she signed the suffrage petition.
Elizabeth and John had four children and lived at 'Keith Hall' farm on the Taieri Plains where John died in 1929.
Elizabeth died at her residence Wardlands on 7 October 1942, she is buried with John in the East Taieri Cemetery.
