Elizabeth Agnes Louise Barlow was born about 1846 in Ireland – the daughter of Richard Barlow, a miller.
She married Michael Reid, a baker, on 20 October 1866 in Londonderry and they had five children before the family emigrated to Otago in 1874 on the Cartsburn.
Their youngest child died soon after their arrival and the family settled in Orepuki in Southland where Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition and they had a further nine children.
Michael died in 1927 and Elizabeth died on 6 March 1929, they are both buried in the Orepuki Cemetery.
