Ellen Bennington Wrigley bornwas 12 November 1871 at Masterton to parents Sarah Ann (nee Bennington) and James Wrigley. Her siblings were John Christopher born 1867, Mary Grace born 1869, Sarah Ann born 1870, James Charles born 1873 and William Leonard born 1878.  In 1885 Ellen attended Masterton School.  Ellen B. Wrigley signed the 1893 Suffrage Petition along with her sister Sarah Ann.  In 1893 Ellen was residing in Lincoln Road, Masterton.  On 19 January 1898 she married Thomas Udy of Wellington. They had three children: John Charles born 1899, Grace Ellen born 1901 and Roy James Udy born 1906.  Ellen's husband was a photographer and they resided in Pine Street later Gordon Street Landsowne Masterton.  Ellen Bennington Wellington died 21 May 1936.  Her husband Thomas Udy Wellington died 26 December 1941.  They were both buried at Masterton cemetery.
