Ellen Frances Strang was born in 1869 in New Zealand – the daughter of Joseph Strang, a carrier, and Mary Hogan. (See 60 Mary Strang)
Ellen did not marry and when she signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Castle St, Dunedin working as a dressmaker.
She died on 19 October 1913 and is buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
