Elsie Findlater was born about 1864 in Aberdeen, Scotland.
She emigrated to New Zealand and she married George Mitchell Wilson, a surfaceman, in 1888.
They had nine children and when Elsie signed the suffrage petition they were living in Ngapara in North Otago.
In the 1910s they moved to Glenomaru in South Otago where George died in 1914.
Elsie died at Balclutha on 9 December 1941, she is buried with George in the Romahapa Cemetery.
