Euphemia McIntyre was born about 1841.

She married John William Thompson, a carpenter, in Australia in the 1870s – they came to New Zealand soon after and had six children.

When Euphemia signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Port Molyneux.

John died in 1909 and Euphemia died at her home on 15 September 1913, they are buried together in the Port Molyneux Cemetery.
