This signatory may be Florence May Smith who appeared on the 1893 Electoral Roll as married and living in Frasertown. In 1892, Florence May Bruman, or Brennan, married Alfred George Smith a Frasertown blacksmith.
Frances and Alfred had four daughters and two sons between 1893 and 1903. Their youngest son Eric Alfred died aged three months in 1902 and he was buried in the Frasertown cemetery.
The family then moved to Wairoa. Later, Alfred moved back to Frasertown where he lived with another woman who was the beneficiary of his will when he died in 1921.
Florence appeared in a Napier newspaper report in 1920 and was living there in 1936 when she died aged 63. She was buried on the same day as she died in the Roman Catholic section of Park Island cemetery.
