Frances/Fanny Ada Amelia Orbell was born in 1871 in New Zealand the daughter of Arthur Orbell and Rhoda/Rora Wilkie. (See 302 R F Orbell)

When she signed the suffrage petition Fanny was living with her family in Hampden in North Otago.

She married William Gibson, a railway employee, on 17 May 1899 in Dunedin – they had four children and lived at Middlemarch, Mosgiel and Dunedin.

William died at Oamaru in 1943, he is buried in the Hampden Cemetery. 

Fanny died on 31 May 1949 at the Wellington Hospital, she was cremated and her ashes appear to be buried with William at Hampden.
