Flora Lamont McKenzie was born in New Zealand in 1867 – the eldest daughter of Duncan McKenzie and Mary Lamont McLean. (See 93 M McKenzie)
She married John Bernard Dundon on 18 June 1889 at her parent’s home in Dunedin.
They had three children and, when Flora signed the suffrage petition, the family were living in Clyde St, North Dunedin.
Their three-year-old son died in May 1895 and John died six months later.
After this Flora ran a store on the corner of George and Howe Streets until 1899 when it was sold.
Flora faced further tragedy in 1918 when her two remaining children died in March and December.
John and their children are buried with Flora’s parents in the Northern Cemetery.
Flora remained in Dunedin where she died on 29 July 1953, she is buried with two of her sisters also in the Northern Cemetery.
