Georgina Mearns was born about 1853.
She married Captain David Bowers in 1867 in New Zealand & they had 10 children, 5 who died in infancy.
David died in 1886 & when Georgina signed the suffrage petition she was living in Leith St, Dunedin working as a ladies’ nurse.
She died on November 20th 1903 & is buried with David in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
