Georgina Wardell was born on October 8th 1857 in Moyrusk, Ireland – the daughter of George Wardell and Anne.
She married John Wardell, they may have been cousins, on June 23rd 1886 in Lisburn and later that year they sailed for New Zealand.
They had 5 children and when Georgina signed the suffrage petition they were living in Heriot Row, Dunedin, where they ran a successful grocery business.
Georgina died at their home in Heriot Row on March 19th 1935 and John died in 1938. They are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
