Grace Davidson was born on 14 November 1868 in Bressay, Shetland – the daughter of William Davidson, a crofter and fisherman, and Margaret Thomson. (See 100 Margaret Davidson)
Grace emigrated to Otago in 1875 on the Nelson with her family who settled in Tapanui, South Otago.
She married David Kirk, a labourer then farmer, in 1891 and they had one son.
David died in 1933 and Grace died on 27 January 1941 at the Tapanui Hospital, they are buried together in the Tapanui Cemetery.
