Grace Fraser was born about 1829 in Walls, Shetland Islands. She married Thomas Laurenson on 17 November 1853 at Walls, Shetland.
They had two sons before Grace was widowed in the late 1850s. She emigrated to Otago in 1883 on the Caroline with her son and daughter in law.
Grace died at her son’s residence, Maitland St, on 2 June 1906. She is buried in a family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
