Grace Wilson was born about 1824 in Scotland.

She emigrated to New Zealand and, on 19 August 1876, she married John Wilson, a tailor, in Dunedin.

John was a widower with, at least five children.

When Grace signed the suffrage petition they were living in Anderston Rd, Kaikorai.

John died at their home in 1901 and Grace died at her niece’s home in Dunedin on 14 August 1918 – they are buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
