Helen/Ellen Borwick was born in 1869 in Herbert, North Otago – the daughter of George Borwick, a shepherd, and Catherine Macaulay.
When Helen signed the suffrage petition she was living in Royal Terrace, Dunedin.
She married George Scott Stewart, an engine driver & widower, on 28 December 1911.
Helen died at her home in Dunedin on 8 March 1934 and George died in 1937.
They are buried with George’s first wife in the Southern Cemetery.
