Helen Elizabeth Isabella Gray was born in 1861 in Victoria, Australia – the daughter of James Gray, an accountant, and Helen Tindall.
The family came to New Zealand about 1863 and lived in Maitland St, Dunedin.
Helen did not marry. She died at Maitland St on 12 November 1947. She is buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
