Harriet Booth was born about 1847 in Staffordshire, England – the daughter of Elijah Booth, an engine driver, and Tamar Clare.
She married Edward Lloyd in 1870 and they had six children, three who died in infancy. In 1888 she emigrated to New Zealand on the Tongariro, Edward had presumably sailed earlier.
Their last child was born in 1889 – she died the following year.
The family settled in Brunnerton where Harriet signed the suffrage petition.
She died on 4 February 1894 and is buried in the Waimangaroa Cemetery.
Edward died in 1930 at their daughter’s home at Mount Somers – he is buried in the Mount Somers Cemetery.
