Hannah Maria Elizabeth Jackson was born in 1844 in Melbourne, Australia, the daughter of George Jackson and Mary Stokes.
She married James Flannery in the early 1860s and they sailed for Otago in 1862 on the Eureka.
They had eight children, one who died in infancy. When Hannah signed the suffrage petition they were living in Main North Rd, Waikouaiti.
Hannah died at their son’s home in Waikouaiti on November 30th 1910 and James died in 1919. They are buried in the Waikouaiti Cemetery.
