Harriet Eliza Winkfield was born on 31 October 1867 at Maitland St, Dunedin – the daughter of Robert Winkfield, a butcher and stockman, and Eliza Townsend.
She married George Robertson McGregor, an engine driver, in 1892 and when she signed the suffrage petition they were living in Walter St, Carisbrook.
In later life they moved to Geraldine in South Canterbury where they had a garage.
Harriet died in Timaru on 13 January 1940 – she is buried in the Timaru Cemetery.
George died in 1960 in Alexandra – he is buried in the Alexandra Cemetery.
