Helen Donald (1850-1933) was my great-grandmother. She was a strong Methodist, (her father James Gordon being a prominent lay preacher initially at Tawa Flat and later in Masterton), and according to family tradition, was a founding member of Masterton branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union.
