Helen married Henry Guyton in 1894 and they had nine children, four of who died in their late teens or early twenties.

The family lived in the Burkes/St Leonards area of West Harbour where Henry died in 1938.

Helen died at Dunedin on 20 March 1951, she is buried with Henry in the family grave in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
