Helen Mary Jones Scott was born in 1868 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Scott, a farmer, and Catherine.
When she signed the suffrage petition she was living in Upper York Place, Dunedin although she signed her address as Montecillo where she may have been working.
She married Peter McLachlan Campbell, a coal miner, on 5 September 1903 in the Waikouaiti Parish, north of Dunedin and they had one daughter.
The family lived in Glentunnel, Kisselton, Waimate, Denniston and Charleston before ending their days in Milton, South Otago.
Peter died in 1954 and Helen died in 1956, she is buried in the Milton Fairfax Cemetery.
