Helen Morrison was born about 1843, probably in Scotland.
She came to New Zealand where she married farmer David Page McKenzie on 3 December 1867 in the Inclutha/Stirling parish.
They had nine children and they lived, at first, at the North Balclutha Hotel where David was landlord.
They later moved to Otaria then, in the 1880s, the family moved to East Gore where Helen signed the suffrage petition.
David died in 1908 and Helen died on 7 June 1912 – they are buried together in the Gore Cemetery.
