Henrietta Houston Wilson was born about 1848 in Renfrewshire, Scotland – the daughter of Andrew Houston Wilson, a baker, and Isabella Buchanan.
She came to New Zealand with her father and sister in the 1860s and married John Webster, a builder, in 1866.
They had 11 children, one who died in infancy as well as a foster son who was born in 1896.
When Henrietta signed the suffrage petition the family were living in the Hawthondale subdivision of Roslyn in Dunedin.
John died at King St, Kaikorai in 1906 and Henrietta died on 1 September 1925, they are buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
