Isabella Ferguson McLeod was born in 1865 in Christchurch – the daughter of Daniel McLeod and Margaret McKay. (See 104 Margaret McLeod)
Her father died when she was two-years-old and she moved, with her mother and siblings, to Milton.
When she signed the suffrage petition in Milton Isabella was working as a dressmaker.
From 1907 to 1918 she was advertising her services in the newspaper.
She ran dress cutting classes and supplied 'Costumes, Coat-Frocks, Skirts, Blouses, and Riding Habits CUT, FITTED, and TACKED ready to sew in your own homes.'
She died at Milton on 12 August 1943 and she is buried in the Fairfax Cemetery, Milton.
