Isabella Speirs was born about 1852 in Perthshire, Scotland – the daughter of Janet Dunn.
She emigrated to Otago with her mother and two uncles on the Sir Edward Paget in 1856.
The family settled at Puerua in South Otago where Isabella signed the suffrage petition.
She did not marry and in later years she lived with her cousins Flora & Elizabeth Dunn in Dunedin.
She died there on 17 February 1924 and is buried in the Romahapa Cemetery.
