Isabella/Bella Black Wright was born in 1868 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Wright & Barbara Black.

She married Charles James Henry Nantes, a shipping clerk, in 1890 – they had no children.

When Isabella signed the suffrage petition they were living in Heriot Row, Dunedin.

In the 1900’s they moved to Napier then, later in life, they moved again to Auckland.

Isabella died on September 20th 1937. At a meeting of the Parnell branch of the League of Mothers reference was made to Isabella’s death as “one of the first members”.

Charles died in 1940, they are buried together in the Waikaraka Cemetery, Auckland.
