Ida Laura Bradbury was born in Port Albert, New Zealand in 1869 – the daughter of William Bradbury, a storekeeper, and Jane McCallum.
Ida was a Lieutenant in the Salvation Army and she served in Naseby in Central Otago in 1891 and Winton in Southland before moving to Queenstown in 1892 where she signed the suffrage petition.
In 1893 she was transferred to Otepopo and, in 1896, she was serving at Denniston on the West Coast.
Ida married Robert Brown, a grocer, in 1902 and they had three children, one who died in infancy.
The family lived in Auckland where Ida died in October 1949, she was cremated and her ashes were scattered.
When and where Robert died is unclear.
