Also signed as 109 Isabel Latham
Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Isabella Moore McGregor was born about 1857 in Ireland – the daughter of Hugh McGregor, a veterinary surgeon and Martha McCubbin.
Her mother appears to have died when she was a child as she did not accompany the family when they emigrated to Otago in 1861 on the Lady Egidia.
Isabel married John Latham on 23 October 1878 in the Winton Parish.
They had two children and when Isabel signed the suffrage petition they were living in East Gore.
Isabel died at her home in Gore on 7 March 1913. Her obituary said her 'kindly nature and amiable disposition endeared her to a large circle of friends, by whom she will be greatly missed.'
John died in 1919 – they are buried together in the Gore Cemetery.
