Isabella Polson McIntosh McLeod was born in New Zealand in 1866, the daughter of William McLeod, a farmer, and Isabella McIntosh.
She lived with her family in Outram near Dunedin.
Isabella married John Alexander Stewart, a butcher, in 1889. They had two sons, although John died in 1891, aged 26, before their second son was born.
Isabella died on 18 August 1941. Isabella and John are both buried in the West Taieri Cemetery.
