Isabella Gray Morton was born on 5 June 1859 in Edinburgh, Scotland - the daughter of William Morton, a farmer, and Jane Gilchrist. (See 106 Jane G Morton)

She emigrated to Otago in 1860 with her family on the Gala.

After some time near Dunedin and on the Taieri the family settled at 'Underwood' near Puerua in 1874.

Isabella signed the suffrage petition at 'Underwood'.

She did not marry and she died on 9 December 1927 at Pounawea, she is buried in the Romahapa Cemetery.
