Isabella Redmond was born about 1842 in Belfast, Ireland.
She emigrated to New Zealand and she married John Mackney on 7 July 1875 in Dunedin.
They lived in Invercargill where they had two children, one who died in infancy and John worked as a commission agent.
They later moved to Dunedin and when Isabella signed the suffrage petition they were living in Smith Street.
In the 1900’s they moved back to Invercargill where John died in 1914 and Isabella died on 14 October 1920 – they are buried together in the Invercargill Eastern Cemetery.
